Not the most attractive building. Was not open so didn't see the interior but supposed to be able to hold 10,000+ (?).

I was very disappointed! The place where people want to pray does not to be huge as a football stadium! quite negative impression.

It was rainy though, the architecture and its reflection on the watery floor look so fantastic.

No celebrations took place in this basilica during my visit. However it was open for viewing and I was quite impressed by the displays there.

The entire site at Fatima is moving and beautiful. This newer church is however sterile and not as moving as the older church. The entire story of Fatima and the revelations from the Virgin Mary make a trip here very worthwhile.
