The new building is definitely a place to see, even just from outside if you are interested in contemporary architecture. But when it comes to what is inside of it, the exhibition wasn't as interesting as the building itself. If you decide to go there, I suggest buying tickets

I saw MAAT for the first time from a boat while cruising the Tagus River. Went there at night. Such a beautiful example of modern architecture with some influence from the beloved Oscar Niemeyer.
