This is a reasonable large museum with a nice collection of Portughese and European Art. Jeroen Bosch - Altarpiece, The Temptation of St. Anthony is worth seeing for sure. Portuguese furniture evolution is quite interesting too. The museum garden is nice for sitting and having a coffee in between visiting parts of the museum. Unfortunately, the most beautiful part of the museum was closed when I was there. Maybe next time I'll get to see it :)…

Huge museum with 3 floors and a lot of paintings from both Portugal and other countries. The entrance is next to the garden overlooking the river. Cheap entrance, and there are 3 levels, most of the paintings is on the 2nd level. There were some good exhibition on Portuguese-Japan expedition. There's even a chapel inside the museum. There were not many people there where I went, but that made it better for me since I can view all the paintings in peace. Great way to spend about 2-3 hours.…

They did not say what is closed or open because of Coronavirus. Some Paintings are very beautiful. I loved the ones about Portuguese Expedition in Japan.…

I visited on a Sunday, when entrance is free for residents of Portugal, whatever their nationality. Otherwise, entrance is just €6. The museum is a delight. It's on 3 floors and the exhibits are well spaced and well displayed. There is a garden at the back where you can just sit and relax amongst the statues, or you can buy coffee, soft drink and cakes in the cafeteria there. There are nice views over the bay from the garden.…

While it's not on the level of the Louvre, Uffizi, or Prado, it is a world class museum with an excellent collection. It has a very good collection of fine metal pieces in addition to the expected paintings, etc. Any serious lover of European painting should not miss this museum.…
