At first we taught he were joking but no. Dont waste your time trying get to the "fancy" (discusting) Lux, there are many better night... More

Doorman very unfriendly, music very bad, drinks too expensive! No music to dance. Instead of party it was very boring. Never again! :(

What to say.. We wanted to go to the " famous" Lux...first on 09/06 they had a special event with Dubfire and the were advertising the party on Resident Advisor with an entrance fee of 20 euros witch is great price.. Any way we got really tired so we did not go to the party...but in 2 days we vent... More

I have been there before once, and I can say the club itself is good, the music is cool, etc. But the second time we tried to get in, the bodyguards told us the price for the night was 240€ (mainly because we couldn't speak portuguese, so they realised we were foreign), while a lot of people were entering in... Classy nightclub. No dress code, but head wear is maybe dubious. Friendly staff. Good selection of drinks at the bar. Decent prices at the bar. Beautiful view of the adjacent water which is even more pretty with the sun rise. Spacious building. Although not in the city centre, definitely worth a visit. Great line up(often international acts).

I've been to clubs all over Europe including the always hard to get into Berghain. Here is just a joke. It looks like a little kid designed the layout of the place. It's filled with nothing but wannabe hot shots on blow hitting on girls half their age and failing all over one of the poorest excuses for a soundsystem... More

I went to Lux with two of my friends (all of us are non-Portugese) on a Saturday night, we paid 12 euros per person and got this amount back as drink vouchers. We had a really nice evening, the club itself looks really cool - I liked the difference between the techno floor and the more disco-ish second floor. However,... More

We arrived there at 3am and it took 40 minutes to stay at the front of the row. Then we were asked to pay 240euro per Person. We were not drunk or anything else but we had to leave again ! We spend enough money in another place and we will never go there again !

240 euros yay! How generous. Four of us arrived at around 2.30, two got in, me and the other friend did not. I was wearing leather shoes, jeans and a shirt. Fresh haircut and only had two glasses of wine.

Staying in Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria

Neighbourhood Profile
Castelo, Alfama & Mouraria
Explore narrow streets and alleyways, small cafes and, of course, the internationally acclaimed Fado music. The earth-shattering Great Earthquake of 1755 destroyed most of the city but the contiguous neighborhoods of Mouraria, Castelo and Alfama remained standing to this day. These neighborhoods represent Lisbon at its historical best. The cool breeze of the Tagus river will take you up the hills to the sound of Fado, where you'll discover the best "tascas," eat delicious fresh fish and drink great wines. Discover hidden viewpoints and ancient traces of other civilizational ruins in the heart of the Portuguese capital. These are centuries-old neighborhoods that will welcome you to the very best of old Lisbon culture.
