This bridge is visible from far... but walking to it from the Parque das Naçoes is quite a challenge, as it only "seems" close. Nice walk though.

If you have the time I would recommend taking a boat trip that passes under the bridge so you may admire the size of this amazing bridge. I imagine crossing it is another great experience!

This impressive Bridge was made for 1998 World Expo and it is longest Bridge in Europe, over 17km(way over 10 miles). Located in Parque das Nacoes area, little outside of City Center and Old Town, but definitely worth of visit, because there are lots to see and do in this area. Like for example Vasco da Gama Tower, Oceanarium, Casino,... More

We were on a tour bus heading south from Lisbon and the route took us over the 8 mile plus Vasco da Gama Bridge. The Tagus River is wide at this point. We crossed at low tide so there were a number of people out gathering clams and other shell fish as well as shrimpers. A number of boats were... More

Glad to make it across safe. Does it's job really well connecting two pieces of land across a waterway.

The bridge is a beautiful construction and easily seen from many viewpoints. We actually took a ferry across the river, but enjoyed very much our views of the bridge.
