Campo Pequeno is a bullfighting arena in Lisbon. It is located in Campo Pequeno Square, on Avenida da Republica. After a thorough modernization, the facility was reopened in 2006 as a venue for various cultural events and concerts in addition to bullfighting. Campo Pequeno has restaurants and an underground shopping center with parking. Campo Pequeno was built between 1890 and 1892 under the supervision of the Portuguese architect Antonio Jose Dias da Silva. Amazing architecture.

Small but interesting museum detailing the history and traditions of Portugese bullfighting. Cristina guided us round and was most welcoming and knowledgeable.

This is a nice structure with nice stores and good foodcourt. Although they did not have the bull fight in March, the shops made up for it.

The bull fighting palace is beautiful on the outside. Inside it is used for different events beside bull fights. Went to a chocolate festival there last year. Movie theater underground.

This is the old bullfighting ring in Lisbon which is still in use (for bullfights, but the bull is apparently not killed). It is now also used for concerts and shows. The building dates from around 1890, with the roof dominated by exquisite blue domes, but has been extensively recently renovated. It is a superb example of the architecture of the time and well worth the effort to visit. It is also worth visiting for the local shopping centre attached to it, cheaper stuff than in the centre of the city where all the tourists are. We couldn't see many tourists when we visited, despite it being in the middle of the day.
