The large flying-saucer (or a horseshoe) reminding building was also designed as a part of Expo 98 project. It was known as the Atlantic Pavilion, designed by Portuguese architect Regino Cruz. Today it is one of the largest indoor arenas in Europe with a capacity of around twenty thousand visitors and the central venue for the biggest concerts and events... More

Worth a visit outside and inside for the architectural details, an amazing ceiling. But the worst acoustics I have ever found for a musical venue, strident reverberations, annoying echoes. It should rather be a sports' arena, one of the greatest.

This is an amazinzing building in the Parque das Nações area in Lisbon. This ressembles the bottom of a boat but also in a way looks like a weird space ship. If you are in the are just go and see it or take a picture of it. The inside is amazing, I have been there for many shows, from... More

we visited the MEO arena for the cirque du soleil; the arena is placed in the expo área and well conected via metro and buses, the metro is the quickest way to arrive. If you happen to be at Lisbon now try to get tickets for the cirque of solei, the show is wonderful, daily at 9:30 pm

What a great venue Fantastic arena for a concert, I saw the Cure play here and the sound was superb from the second floor balcony. Easy access in and out to bars and toilets. Good transport in and out of arena.

Have been here for the web summit16 and spent a few hours in the arena. It hosts 15k people, is well conserved and has a good sound system. From anywhere you sit you can see very well.

We enjoyed Adele show there, The entrance was easy, Lots of help, very organized (gold ring) the arena had fresh air although its closed structure. Beer is sold by people who carry it on their back during the show , water are also available. Clean toilets.

Staying in Parque das Nacoes

Neighbourhood Profile
Parque das Nacoes
This neighborhood was built up at the end of the 1990s mostly because of the Expo '98. The pavilions and structures that once were the home of all the Expo's attractions and exhibits are still culturally and artistically significant. In Parque das Nações you'll explore conference and concert pavilions, a shopping center, trendy restaurants and an enjoyable cable car ride you can't miss out on. On top of this, the amazing Lisbon Oceanarium (one of the most spectacular things you'll ever see in the city) will take your breath away: its respect and will to preserve natural wildlife is uncanny. Easily accessible by metro, bus or taxi from the city center, Parque das Nações is highly recommended for anyone who'll spend more than 3 days in the Portuguese capital.
