It was on my priority list to visit this cemetery. and it was all that I was hoping for. The schedule is : Mon- Fri ; 10.00 - 13.00 hrs, but we were lucky to find the curator on Saturday morning. To get to St. George's Episcopal Church you have to walk through this small cemetery. It quieted my spirit to walk here before entering the church. It's always sad to see young war dead or young children's headstones. The grounds are well kept and very green with some blossoming bougainvillea overhanging some stones. Very nice cemetery with old and beautiful headstones and monuments. We came there to visit the grave of Henry Fielding but decided to stay longer and see the other graves.

As well as the cemetry, don't forget the church itself. It is a beautiful church with so much history! You can get an book of the history just inside, which goes back over 250 years! Also there is a service every Sunday at 11:30am and Thursdays at 12:30. It is a close nick community who are so welcoming! All are... More

Whenever we travel we check to see if there is a Commonwealth War Cemetery so we can pay our respects..... and surprisingly there was a small plot in Lisbon within this larger cemetery. The Cemetery is inside a walled compound with a locked gate - which supposedly opens at 9am (9.40 when we visited !) but the wait was worth... More
