The iconic XIX new-Arabian Palace, located in the groovy neighborhood of Principe Real, was turned in Sept. 2013 Into an innovative retail concept (TimeOut Idea of the Year Award), hosting a range of shops focused on Portuguese design, fashion, gastronomy and culture. The result is a meeting point of people and experiences, tradition and contemporaneity, blending heritage with the newest that Portugal has to offer. The restaurant located in the inner courtyard offers live Fado concerts on Tuesdays and sundays. Complimentary parking in the garden (Calcada da Patriarcal, 40) for clients.

This is a truly remarkable building that has been saved and now houses some exquisite Portuguese brands all housed in free flowing linked rooms off the magnificent central staircase. The murals are beautiful and the scope of the mansion remarkable. Worth a visit just to...More

Embaixada, is an amazing concept store with specialty boutiques wrapped around a courtyard in a mansion. The best way to describe the experience for me was to imagine you were coming home and entering your house, you walk in the lobby and are greeted with...More

This is an unique concept shopping mall. Small and compact within a old Arabian Palace. Stores carry Portuguese brands and designs. Good craftsmanship, but out of my price range. Since it is an old building, the ventilation probably is not adequate. The location of the...More

Visit an old beautiful private Palace - have a drink or see the "butcher" Restaurant in the Basement!

Embaixada is a beautiful concept store. The shops are nice and niche, but the building is worth the visit. You can walk from store to store and see the different shops while enjoying the place.

I spotted this place mostly for architecture than for shopping purpose and i was right. Shopping options are very few, but the building itself is marvelous. Very cool idea to give an old building a new life and by all means keeping authenticity.

You'll find intriguing architecture, some relatively interesting upmarket shops and a restaurant - though despite its grandeur, we didn't stay here long as the shops didn't appeal to us very much. It's similar to London's Liberty, spread across a couple floors, with mainly home decoration...More

This place was absolutely stunning and what a good idea to open an old palace with independent shops and a cafe. We enjoyed wandering around the place, taking it all in. At 12pm on a Sunday all of the cafe tables were reserved which shows...More

For pubs and restaurants from noon until late, shops around noon until 1800. But do ask your hotel for more information. Enjoy!
