If you’re in Belem take a look at this small castle in the water. For me it was quite ok from the outside so I didn’t went inside.

The fortified Torre de Belém is a classic Portuguese landmark in the outskirts of Lisbon, and listed as a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. It’s an intriguing, but rather small build - and the queue to get in is always long. You get a much...More

By park-standards, this is a big kahuna, with some bells and whistles to offer tourists and locals. Anything free deserves an "atta-boy" award (a big pat on the back). In our admission, our tour bus did regurgitate our group onto the park to flounder around...More

Especially at sunset a wonderful place. Reconsidering the historical meaning of this place, it becomes even more special. Did not visit the tower, but the place itself is quite fantastic.

We came in early before the mass of tourists came, but it was still crowded... We had no chance to get inside. We took some great shots outside of the monument.

This is an OK park, located just next to the famous tower in Belém. While its a nice place for a quick rest, it's not particularly interesting nor beautiful.

Not a special park. In fact, just a large area with green grass and not too many trees. A lot of people lying on the grass, peaceful atmosphere. But nothing more. It's more interesting, by far, to visit the Belem Tower.

The tower is from 1520 and was built as a defence against pirates. It was placed out in the river, but today it is connected to the land. The river Tejo has simply changed its flow several times over the years. The tower means a...More
