We had the chance to stay 4 nights within the walls of Obidos and really enjoyed it. For sure during the day, the main street is rather crowded but in the evening as well as in the early morning you enjoy fully the city. The...More

Amazing town with bustling streets- horse rides and little shops everywhere. Kids ages 5-7 loved it. So did parents.

We were actually pretty lucky...the day we visited, there was just one bus in the parking lot when we arrived at 10 am. Sadly - by the time we walked around and had lunch, there were 10 or 12 buses and the entire town was...More

Obidos used to be a charming little town. However it has been taken over by masses of tourists and junky souvenir shops. If that's what you want go there. If you are looking for a more authentic travel experience, go elsewhere.

Nice old town, well preserved, good to walk around the narrow alleyways and explore. Multiple tourist shops selling souvenirs and small cafes. Take the time to soak in the history. Since this is an old walled town, few cars allowed; so you park outside the...More

Quaint Main Street with lots of artisan shops and whitewashed buildings. We went to end of Main Street the. Walked back on the walls. Very enjoyable hour. Could do the castle but we didn’t.

Really worth seeing. Walk around, go into tiny streets. Parking space in front of main gate become full at 10.00 but there are more close to aqueduct. Go along main shopping street heading the castle where you can climb defending walls .

There is a large parking lot as you approach the main gate to the town, can’t miss it. Pay from 9 am to 8 pm but free on weekends.

Apologies for the delay. I could spend three or four days in Obidos, but if time is an issue, a day trip from Lisbon or one night would be fine. In terms of hotels, the pousada, operated by Pestana Hotels is... More
