Parque de Monserrate is not that popular is Quinta da Regaleira or Pena Palace but it is surely worth visiting. Palace itself is beautiful but park is what you must see. Unique landscapes, tropical trees you probably have never seen before, exotic scents you feel even in winter time... Better to come during low season when the park is almost... More

A Magic Parc & A Must to Visit in Sintra! Very diffrent, very big, very harmonic, a bit hilly & very, very green for 12 months. Thank's to the micro climate you find Gardens from all of the world & a Rose garden with ~ 350 kinds of roses. It's an Oasis also for handikapped with electro car to book.... More

Not sure why the palace is listed separately, it is part of the park and included in the ticket. The palace is nice but not huge, but the highlight is the gardens. Beautifully designed, a pleasure to stroll through, with a winding path, mini lakes, a Mexican tropical section, a fern canyon, waterfalls, just lovely. An amazing feat.

Ahh, the benefits of travelling out of season. But for me the weather was just great. I drove there but you can get a tour bus from Sintra - they're regular and not expensive, and the roads are a bit....... interesting... Is it worth visiting? You betcha. Beautiful grounds and the palace is quirky and lovely. The views are spectacular.... More

We visited this house and gardens when we went to Sintra. The house is not huge, but interesting, it had a very long passage/hallway with marble pillars each side and a stone feature and figure in the middle. It was different and quite impressive looking from one end to the other. The rooms were unfurnished, but light and airy, and... More

Rather than taking the tram, we decided to walk thru the park and then up to the Pena Palace. It is a steep, challenging climb, but the gardens give you a beautiful excuse to take your time and meander. We enjoyed reading the placards and learning about the different trees and flowers. Since most folks take the tram to the... More

We had good walk through the park. Actually, I expected more, I thought the palace had more glamour but it was also fine

We visited these gardens on a drizzly day in late October but still found them magical and inspiring. The exotic plants are the star of the show in this park but there is also a atmospheric Chapel ruin and several ponds and mini lakes to see. Each part of the garden has a different theme like Fern Valley, the Mexican... More
