We enjoyed the relative calm and peace of this house and gardens. Its a bit of a walk up hill to the exit. Great place for a picnic.

After doing the usual bus loop, we decided to venture a little further out to see the Monserrate Palace. It was definitely the highlight of our trip to Sintra. The grounds are amazing and definitely worth some time to wander around, and the Palace itself...More

I walk there from the center of Sintra and spent all day there. You feel like the whole world pauses just for you to enjoy your time. I just loved it!

Difficult access by walk as you have to walk along the main road. Better take the bus. In the parc, some path were closed so we could not visit everything. The palace was very disappointing as the rooms are totally empty. Not much to see.

The Monserrate Palace is a very elegant home set amidst a beautiful and verdant garden. While its still undergoing part of its restoration, its worth visiting if you're in Sintra and you've got a little time after visiting Quinta de Regeleira and Castelo dos Mouros.

Hello! We live in the area, and have visited Monserrat on many occasions. It is well worth setting aside more time for walking through the gardens, as they are more like a botanical garden than a formal garden, with lots of... More
