Little paradise with almost no people

The place is gorgeous. The cable car takes you down to a secluded space with no cars, no streets, nothing - just simple nature and a few small houses. The natural farm makes fresh produces. The accommodation is relatively simple, but cosy. The kitchen a bit disappointing, with two small hot plates, no ventilation, minimal IKEA equipment, nothing there (not... More

Accessed by a 10 euro per person cable car ride just below Cabo Girao you descend almost 500m to what is "an island within an Island". Walk through mango, avocado and other assorted exotic fruit plants and trees to the ocean side restaurant. Reasonably priced a la carte menu, includes many ingredients grown just a short walk from where you... More

Stayed here for 5 nights and had a wonderful, relaxing time spent reading, walking around the area, and eating the fresh fruit that is grown here. It's so peaceful, all you hear is the sound of the waves on the shore, or the workers going about their farming duties. Breakfast can be served in your room but it's so much... More

The car cable will bring you down a cliff of 250 mt and, once outside, you will be in an enchanting and pristine place, far away from the most touristic spots, discovering the real essence of the island. Next time I would like to stay overnight for a full experience in this magical beach.

We loved the place and we had here the best food we had at Madeira. The place is fantastic. The plants, the beach, everything. Really great restoration of old village and house is done here. The food at the restaurant was great. I had the grilled octopus which was fabulous. The only negative point here is that you have to... More

I am slowly getting to know (south west) Madeira over the last 3 years. There are not that many places where you can eat right on the beach. Faja dos Padres was a real find and will be a special memory for a long time. Aside from the experience of the cable car ride (quick and easy) & the lovely... More

After severals visits to Madeira Island it was the first time i went to Fajã dos Padres. It's a breathtaking place. The colour, the light, the heat. It's a must be seen place, wether you have courage to "fly" on the cable car or not. Down there you discover a beautiful rocky beach with calm waters. You land on a... More

If you want 5 star boring accommodation that could be anywhere, go somewhere else as this is unique, full of wonder for a bygone era. Owned by the same family for generations, the pride and care they have infused into this paradise is evident throughout. Leave the crowds behind as you approach this wonderland by cable car which is easily... More
