Well planned Seafront Avenue

This wide avenue is situated next to the sea and has plenty of green spaces and small cafes. It is also the main bus and bus tour drop off and collection

Great place to watch all the boating activities with cruise liners, private yachts and boats. Many provide whale and dolphin watching tours, which are a must to see.

The Avenida is built along the port with small eating places along the way and is about to only flat place to stroll in Madeira, so it's an easy walk even if you are not good to foot

Whether checking for cruise ships, watching fishermen making a catch, enjoying an ice cream or a meal, listening to music or just people watching, this is a fantastic Boardwalk.

The perfect street to wander along looking at the sea, marina and the odd cafe, dotted with unusual monuments and artworks.

Nice place to take a stroll along the water front and see the cruise liners. Busy traffic on one side and sea/ harbour on the other but plants separate the two.

Nice place to walk along the sea front in Funchal. Lots to see, and bars and restaurants. Unfortunately a few too many characters trying to pounce on you and sell you sunglasses, jewellery, trips etc.

Place fore a slow stroll, In the sunshine it is very nice. Unfortunately there are coming more and more salesmen who cant leave You along, its really bad fore the tourism..many guests we heard was complaning about them. There are plenty of cafees and restaurants in the marina and on the promenad...and they are expensive.

Many tourists here but it is a lovely walk with plenty of places to eat and drink some on the waterside. Busy thoroughfare with many buses and other traffic but still really nice. Looked particularly pretty as we were there for Christmas so there were very pretty decorations around. Lots of near by places to shop and browse, can imagine... More
