Very good garden, with lots of interesting features. Well laid out and numerous different routes. Couple of reasonable cafes. Worth the trip up to Monte.

When we first visited Monte it was much quieter and so more romantic. Now the crowds have found it. Still a lovely stop but not so quaint.

Monte Palace Madeira was the most amazing tour we did in Funchal. Please just go there! It consists in a beautiful garden of a Palace on a hill. To arrive there you must climb the hill, but do not worry because there are buses, either...More

What a beautiful place... we spent ca. 3 hours exploring the garden and exhitions. I loved the gem stones... I also recommend lunch at the Greenhouse (right next to the entrance).

Great walk and wonderful scenery. Not perfect with a stroller due to all steep hills and bad paving.

Very informative, especially how much Royalty from Continental Europe visited here. Madeira has an amazing history and Culture. A must see to really know Madiera.

My wife and I visited the gardens on a dull November day when colourful floral displays were limited. This would achieve 5 stars in the summer but the pricing is the same off season! We enjoyed the views, waterfalls, displays, Palace exterior and the mineral...More

Not for the faint-hearted, but a wonderful treasure trove of cascading gardens and a beautiful house at the bottom. If you need assistance there is a shuttle back up in a golf cart, but try the walks if you can - you won’t be disappointed!

Not sure what you mean by a buggy cart. If it is for the Monte Palace you can get a Taxi up there but the garden itself didn’t have any options for disabled scooters that I could see . The terracing from top to bottom means... More
