Ok, so it was only €3, and it is a nice yellow colour, but it could be so much better. You are restricted to a couple of rooms and courtyards, which apart from some old photos are completely empty, no history or background. The rooftop...More

This is a mostly empty small fort. There are staircases and corner 'turrets' to be explored. There is a small exhibition in some rooms. The main reason to visit for most people (children aside) would be to see the views and to experience the peace.

Very small entrance fee enabled us to explore different levels of the fort. Spectacular views over the sea and Funchal and a very peaceful atmosphere. Restaurant had restricted views so went to have a snack elsewhere but well worth a visit.

Not sure if it was worth 3euros, it is an empty fort with a few rooms of random art, kind of peaceful and lovely views of the sea and harbour. I suppose the money goes to upkeep, so I do not mind. A photo copy...More

A nice museum. Beautiful view, well kept buildings, clean. But we expected a little more description of the fort's history.
