The museum is still shut due to the water ingress - the young lady in the cafe said it might not open again until September. However the Tea House is excellent - the sugar cane cakes were exceptionally good. It is opposite the Convent of...More

Definitely worth a visit if nothing else for a coffee. Host very communicative. Museum temp closed due to recent water ingress but hopes to be re-opened June.

We visited this museum today and found it closed, although the outside cafe was open. A couple of charming ladies told us that they had suffered a flood within the house and it is closed until further notice. It would be a good idea to...More

The Teahouse is in the garden of the Universo de Memorias and is ideal for those visiting this amazing place or the Quinta das Cruzes Museum or gardens across the street.

This museum is full of eclectic items collected by one man - who is still alive. It is much larger than expected in a beautiful old house. Staff most courteous and excellent coffee shop attached.

A room full of ties; hundreds of horses; enough tea sets for two English old age homes, hundreds of paintings; and thousands of bijouterie, among others. Abreu is rich, and a bachelor, and so has plenty of money to pursue his obsession. I say good...More

Has it been closed then, as always been open when we go. We don't visit the museum every time but go into the lovely coffee shop in the grounds

Yes I think so, but they only take about 20 minutes so you could have a cup of tea if you need to wait.
