I love to go to a traditional Portuguese restaurant as it is the only in Madeira Island - "Sabor a Fado" restaurant - you can eat a very good meal while you listen to Portuguese Fados live!!! Also, I found a new restaurant, in Portugal we call it a "tasca" - with very good local food and cheap. Please go to the "A tasca da Maria". …

You can't say you have seen Funchal unless you have wandered through the Zona Velha. It's a small but vibrant part of the city with plenty of cafes, restaurants and bars. The painted doors are lovely and worth the walk alone. Do go as far as the bright yellow fort (Fortaleza de Sao Tiago) which in itself offers some great views.…
