Beautiful little church

Typical portuguese catholic church with decorations in blue and white tiles in the chapel. Lots of history from the island

Small, tranquil with unique artefacts. A must see when you are on the island. When we went they were dressing the entrance to the church court yard and surrounding streets with branches from fir trees ready for a local festival. Take time to sit down in the church and embrace the atmosphere

Really good to see inside the church, the painting statues were amazing, very lucky to get very close to them. The last supper statues were great, they are looking to restore them. Every penny ,euro helps.

This small white washed church is located within an area of civic space in the main town of Vila Baleira adjacent to a number of public buildings with the Christopher Colombus museum located behind the church. There isn't really much else to add except that the doors were always open during the day on the occasions that we passed!

Very interesting how in both Porto Santo and in Gran Canarias, in Islas Canarias, Columbus homes are "kiddy-corner" to a church.

Beautiful church from the XVI century, at the historic center. It's worth the visit.

Beautiful church on the main square. Perfect for Mass on the Sunday morning as most people then head to the cafes in the square for coffee and cake.
