The holiday was organised through Imagine Cruising and it was excellent in all respects. We sailed with Uniworld from Porto to Salamanca (the last portion by coach) in early April. The holiday started with two days in Lisbon at a very good hotel. Loved Lisbon. We were then coached to Porto to join the Queen Isobel. Loved Porto. With about... More

We were on the Infante Henrique a CroisiEurope boat with under 150 passengers from France, Belgium, Norway, Australia, America and the U K. The boat is very well run by a mainly Portugese crew who take a real pride in their vessel. Food was plentiful and good, lunch and dinner was a one choice option available to view each morning... This was a week-long cruise starting at Oporto and reaching the Spanish Border. The river ran through a gorge at times, with huge locks and hydro-electric plants enabling river cruisers to travel up; before they were built the rowing boats carrying the port and wine had to run the rapids. We stopped briefly as pretty riverside towns and had many... More

Went from Porto to Salamanca with Riviera Travel on Douro Spirit. Excellent cruise with good courier on our coach tours. All tours included in package, free wifi on ship and food to a reasonably good standard. Breakfast was very good with plenty of variety. Price very reasonable compared with other operators. We went on recommendation and were not disappointed.

Nice fun experience spending a day out with Douro River Cruise. We gathered at the pier and board the boat around 7:30am. Cruise along the river with breakfast, lunch served on the boat. Nice calm water and we were back to Porto by train around 5pm.

We travelled with APT on the AMA Vida boat which was very comfortable holding some 85 passengers and 30 crew. The cabin we chose was on B deck and as they are all roughly the same size it was a good choice except we had the balcony for sight seeing which those on C deck do not. Ours was on... More

The scenery as you travel the river is majestic, the locks you pass through are very impressive feats of engineering. The water side based activity is leisurely and as laid back as you want it to be, the bit where you need to give a bit more thought to is the onshore activity. Generally speaking there are no flats bits... More

A river cruise along the Douro with CroisiEurope, which was accompanied with spectacular scenery! Visiting places daily enroute - palaces, cathedrals and cities, and not to mention, vineyards - remember it's the perfect place for Port wine! And the boat - it was a small boat 140 passengers plus the crew and all the crew worked for our benefit! The... More

Having discounted the 40 minute Six Bridges cruise for being too short & not being representative of the Douro Valley we bought tickets for the full day cruise from Porto to Pinhao ( 70 Euros each on a week day, prices are slightly higher at the weekend). We boarded at 0900 & within an hour were enjoying our continental style... More

We took the day long cruise on the Douro up to Pinhao! We had a breakfast and a lunch included. The lunch was good and they were generous on the wine and the port. We left at 8:00 on the boat and came back by bus at 8:30. We visited a vineyard, it was nice. The cruise on the douro... More
