One of our favorite places in Barcelos! It is quiet and pleasant. There is this short path along the river, both sides, from where you can enjoy the nature around. The medieval bridge with the stone archaeological museum on top gives this place a delightful atmosphere.

The bridge is a medieval bridge and I was surprised that cars are permitted there. The bridge itself looks cool it gives away that hint of medieval Portugal and is a must see spot in Barcelos. It is also an attraction that is public so it is free to visit.

The famous view on Barcelos is truly stunning, the only not so great point is that during our visit there were lots of construction works taking place around so the view was not as perfect as was expected, fingers crossed once finished, it will look at its best.

Stopped in Barcelinhos just west of the bridge where you can get a fantastic panaramic view of the river, the bridge, the waterwheel mill below the bridge and the castle remains that sits above the bridge on the Barcelos side. Great photo op!

Ponte Medieval is literally the Middle Ages Bridge, which is located between Barcelos and Barcelinhos, in the North of Portugal. The bridge is nice and you can see beautiful views of it from the upper part in old town of Barcelos. also from the bridge is possible to see the old town and some roosters monuments to remember the animal, which give the name to the country: "Porto" "galo" (the harbour of rooster).

Impressive town but wear comfortable shoes. Streets are uneven and cobble stone but the bridge and the town are quaint.

This is an elegant 15th-century stone bridge that links Barcelos to Barcelinhos across the river. It looks as rock-solid now as it ever has done. On a nice day, it is worth the walk with excellent views of the bridge from both sides of the river.

The ponte is used for modern traffic, so you don't have much space to walk over, but it's surroundings are soooo beautiful. You can stay watching the river, waterrad, ...

A fairly imposing medieval bridge leading to an old medieval castle. When crossing you have a nice view of the front old town and the river. Tip: Park for free along the road on the R. Casal de Nil.
