Το συντριβάνι αυτό είναι τοποθετημένο στο κέντρο της Campo da República ή Campo da Feira. Χρονολογείται από το 1621 και σχεδιάστηκε από τον αρχιτέκτονα João Lopes de Amorim. Διαθέτει τρία επίπεδα, ενώ κάτω από τον ανεμοδείκτη που βρίσκεται στην κορυφή της κεντρικής στήλης διακρίνουμε τα βασιλικά σύμβολα και το σύμβολο της πόλης του Barcelos, ανάμεσα σε αετούς. Περιμετρικά, ξεχωρίζουν τέσσερις βρύσες απορροής του νερού, το οποίο ρέει μέσα από το στόμα εντυπωσιακών γκροτέσκο μορφών. Εξαιρετικό και ιδιαίτερο!

O melhor de Barcelos

De todos os chafarizes, fontes e outros jogos de água, este para mim é o melhor da cidade.
Para além do tamanho, de ter água corrente e ter bons acessos, tem um aspeto diferente de todos os que conheço, mesmo em outras localidades, porque num só chafariz, existem quatro fontes de tamanho médio num nível mais abaixo.
Desenhado pelo arquiteto João Lopes de Amorim e construído em 1621, este chafariz possui quatro escadarias de acesso ao tanque principal, e ao nível da rua, mais quatro fontes, também com água corrente.
Sem dúvida para ser apreciado.
