This not that small church, with clear transitions elements into gothic style, is a mini-masterpiece and would unfortunately be missed by most tourists, who only focus on Braga and Guimarães!
If you happen to be in the area, please give it a go.

Igreja Matriz is one of the churches located in Barcelos, a town in the North of Portugal. It is located in front of Town Hall, in a high point, from where you can see the beautiful surroundings. The church was built in the 14th Century in Portuguese-style. In fact, you can see some blue ceramic tiles, typical in the region. Very nice.

A remodeled old beautiful church in the middle of the city of Barcelos, with a museum close and the Pacos do Conselho. Very much worth seeing.

If you like old churches, this one is a must-see, not as real destination but if you are ever in Barcelos, then take the time to visit.
Located across the ruins of Paco dos Condes, the church interior is beautiful. I spent a lot of time inspecting the old blue tilework, the gold gilted altars interspersed with real old wood. The church also has nice circular stained glass windows, which make a good subject for photography.

Situated along the Cavado River across from the medieval bridge (Ponte Medieval de Barcelos) in an elevated position, Igreja Matriz occupies some of the best real estate in town. The church itself is an imposing, yet refined medieval stone structure. The multi-tiered entranceway leads into a breathtaking interior. Huge arches support a massive wood beam ceiling and the walls (and arches) are adorned with incredible blue and white tiles depicting religious and historical scenes.
