It’s a very small museum, cheap and cheerful at 3euro for entry. I would only visit if you’ve been to the citania de briteiros site so that you can envisage where the artefacts were found and what they were used for. There aren’t many in...More

Wonderful finds from the Castro Culture hill forts, and the wonderful cloisters is a fun surprise (each capital is different).

Interesting museum, but a bit dry. Went there primarily to find out more about Citania de Briteiros before we ventured there, which we did. However, bought the Citania de Briteiros guidebook there and then found it was half the price at the actual site. Beware!

We arrived at closing time but we joined the last guided tour, offered by a very knowledgeable and enthusiastic archaeologist. Enjoyed a fascinating description of pre-Roman and Roman ceramics found nearby.
