Went on a whole day cruise with barca Douro and it could have been better... It was a extremely hot day and there was no shade on the boat! Apparently this is a complain that they have every year and that they choose to ignore. We had lunch on board and it was just ok. Went through the 3 dams... More

We embarked on the `Indepencia` catamaran at 8am for our Barcodouro cruise. we were shown directly to the saloon to have a rather mean breakfast, which consisted only of fruit juice, 2 rolls and coffee or tea, where we enjoyed the company of a German couple and a French couple. As we cruised up the river Douro towards the first... More

Have just completed an 18 day cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam with CroisiEurope. The boat was the MS Victor Hugo. There were 6 in our party from New Zealand and we took the all inclusive package. The boat can take about 90 passengers and is one of the two smallest boats in their fleet. This allows it to sail on... More

We did the tour that goes from Porto on a train (departing from the beautifully decorated train station) where you get to see lovely scenery all the way to a little town and then come back on a cruise boat where you have a fine meal with excellent Portuguese wine. This experience is to relax and admire the scenery. You... More

We booked a two-day river cruise with Barcadouro hoping to enjoy a peaceful river cruise. We hadn't realised how crowded the smallish boat would be as hadn't been informed it would also contain day trippers. It would have been impossible to crowd any more people into the dining room. The unrelaxing atmosphere was compounded by the lack of canopy shade... More

Boarded the boat at 8.00am at Gaia. A disappointing breakfast of coffee and two rolls with jam. There were way too many people on this trip. The downstairs restaurant was crammed which meant not enough seats on deck. So either sitting in a gateway or standing from 8.45 til 13.00 - really uncomfortable and took the shine off a nice... Went with Barcodouro cruises from Porto. Breakfast on board first thing just rolls and jellies with coffee or tea. Beautiful cruise upstream through three amazingly deep locks. Then lunch on board served by crew. Three course hot meal including meat and soup, cheesecake for pudding - ok but not completely defrosted! Endless white and red wine served and water followed by... Boarded the ship at 8 am and once everyone was on board, we all proceeded to eat breakfast. I was travelling solo and was seated with other English speaking people and was greatly relieved as that was my only language. The other two couples were charming and very friendly and after breakfast everyone went on deck. It was very scenic cruising... More

We took the 9.10 train to Regau (took a couple of hours) The train goes along the side of the river. The weather was beautiful so we have some super photographs. The boat trip back was also well worth it. We went below for a 3 course meal including wine and water. Everyone was very friendly.. The views from the... More

We took and afternoon cruise from Regua, and the boat had come from Porto. A couple of hours cruising up the beautiful Douro River to Pinhao. A short Port tasting and a walk around town and a 20 minute ride back on the train. Douro is spectacular and this is a great way to see the valley and vineyards
