I viisted here pre Covid and my it is gorgeous, especially the famous Arab room - so beautiful and with so much detail everywhere you look, the pictures do not begin to do this place justice. It was of course guided tours only but we had all the time to look around and the guide was very informative giving us plenty of space with just the right amount of information.

The place given to commercial traders, has a beautiful interior and a guide who explains all details of the history and interesting pieces of interior. The most amazing is Arabic room, it is like you are somewhere in the East, in the tales of 1001 night.

I had a private tour because of the lack of tourists during Covid time. The guide was nice and informative. I did have to wear a face mask. The building is beautiful, especially the Arab room. But also the mozaïek wooden floors and decorative windows. But for me it would not be a must see for a short Porto visit.

We arrived nearly closing time and was glad to know that they were happy to provide a tour. It is the place to learn about the trading history of Porto and the Arab room really impressed us. Five stars to the wonderful lady who was also our guide for clear explanation, friendliness, patience and answering to many of our questions. They have good hygiene system in place and hand sanitizer everywhere.

Everyday I was told it receives 1500 visitors. Now it us 50. When I went I was the only one. So I got a private tour starting straight away. The ball room us stunning. Pay attention to the deliberate off centre position of the door relative to the floor. Islamic way to say humans aren't perfect. Well if it was my house everything will be centred and aligned!!!
