I think it’s the most beautiful church in Porto. If you have already visited the other churches in the city I can tell you that when you enter this you will be speechless for its complete gold decoration. My only advice is to visit only the church because catacombs and palace I did not like at all and do not deserve the visit. From the outside it looks just like another regular church but inside you'll see the most beautiful church interior of Porto and one of the most stunning churches in Portugal. There is gold everywhere: on the ceilings, altars, statues! The carvings are so detailed it’s phenomenal! The ticket also includes a visit to the museum and catacombs. If you visit the catacomb don’t miss the bones cellar trough the floor (on the left side of the catacomb). It’s very discrete, most people don’t go there because they think there nothing to see. The museum itself is interesting, but the highlight is the visit inside the church and then the catacombs. As you cross the courtyard there is a good view of the gothic rose window, the only original exterior decoration still surviving. Another church well laden with gold and there are several side chapels sponsored by prominent families of the time. The visit to the catacombs is a chilling experience, both because of the natural coolness of the area and the human bones, which can be viewed below ground in an ossuary. Once again, prominent families were buried here as were the Franciscan monks.…
