Impressive statue of a King who was only King of Portugal for less than a month but first Emperor of Brazil for almost 10 years. It's located at the bottom end of the grand square, opposite the Intercontinental Palace Hotel. He is surrounded by very impressive buildings.

You could sit in this park area and while away the day. The statue is quite commanding and the area around the park is quite interesting. We enjoyed a bit of down time here while we were in Porto.

This is an elegant monument to a former king of Portugal at the end of the central square, Placa Liberdade, not far from Sao Bento train station. Its impressive and it dominates that end of the placa but that's about it really.

The statue is located in Praça da Liberdade, where you can have a coffee or meal at the one of the numerous cafés and restaurants in the vicinity.…
