Amazing place where the river meets the ocean, just beautiful with people walking on the sidewalks, full of fisherman. The beach is very nice, for anybody who loves water and the beach, you can spend a whole day here.

this must be a nice beach in the summer, now during the winter the waves are impressive. it is located just close to the Jardim do Alegre and it is something you can visit while there.

Such a pretty, peaceful area. Would highly recommend visiting around sunset. Lots of people were there, but it didn't feel crowded - it was mostly just people taking in the beautiful view. Sizable waves and a really calming scene.

We rented bikes from our hotel and took a trip to the beach avenue. We drove by this astonishing place in the evening as the sun was setting down. Very romantic and beautiful place. Good access with bikes also.

Offically the access to the lighthouse was blocked, however we just walked right under the rope like all the other tourists and watched the waves break and the sea pound the rocks. Exellent!

Theres something about going to the beach that just recharges you. We went there in the afternoon and had a great time chatting and people-watching. The sight of people walking their dogs, jogging, children playing and fishermen was refreshing. Highly recommend.

In the summer is a good place to go to the beach and relax. In the Winter, specially in late December, is great place to watch big waves. You can also pratice sport, like jogging, and go along the boardwalk to Castelo do Queijo.
