It is a very central church with the particularly of having two towers and the facade covered with tiles representing the story of Santo Idelfonso. It dates back of early 1700s with inside nineteenth century altarpiece made by Nicolau Nasoni, in baroque and rococo style. Worth a visit.…

Really striking church set at he end of a busy square with a stunning intricate facade and azulejo tiles. I saw it from the open topped bus city tour and it really struck a chord with me so I got off and had a good look. That was a good call! Its beautiful inside and out and well worth your time in a city with lots to demand your attention. It is perched atop some stone steps standing guard above its placa, grand and as I said before, intricate, yet it still seems lived in and local, earthy and used rather than haughty and proud. …
