Farol Molhe do Douro is a great viewing point. The nearby beach is nice and the locals go there a lot. There is a bus with number 500 that can take you as far to Matosinhos

A picturesque area that will leave you breathless. Here in addition to photographing the lighthouse you can also see the mouth of the river Duero in the Atlantic Ocean. Also from here you can start the long walk along the coast that will take you beyond the national park of Porto. Essential to disconnect a little from the daily visits that the city offers and to breathe the air of "sea". Like people, there are days of total peace, the sound of the waves falling asleep in the rocks make you want to stay there for ever, reading, sleeping, being in love. On winter time its a magic rock in the middle of the storm, the dangerous feeling its real, people size becomes smaller each step, the sound its brutal, the water climbs meters, the nature its trying to say something very important to humanity.

A nice walk along the beach to watch the surfers and then out to the lighthouse. It was a calm sunny day but there were still some large waves. Incredible force of the water as it goes between the two walkways. The park across the street is a pretty spot to relax with decent public washrooms.
