Booked the 6pm Fado concert in advance- to the amusement of the lady giving out tickets. Didn't need to but ended up with front row seats. Really fantastic singer and musicians. Nothing fancy but very good and just the right length and selection of songs for someone new to Fado music. The interval glass of port was a nice additional... More

We visited Casa da Guitarra as part of a walking tour of Porto and saw the beautiful musical instruments made there, especially the Portuguese guitars. The Casa also runs short fado shows at 6pm in an intimate little venue across the street - the Casa is easy to find because it's in the street that leads straight on to the... More

The ship is fantastic with all the guitars. Local Portuguese instruments with strange tunings. Professional and helpful staff. The instruments are of very high quality. The fado concert was fantastic. I can highly recommend a visit.

We went to the 6pm Fado "concert." Three performers played for about an hour. Two men and a women with the one women doing most of the singing and one of the men did a couple of songs. It was a really special night for us and at intermission we were served some port. Do not miss this as it... More

I stumbled upon this great music shop, and decided to investigate. There were beautiful guitars, ukuleles, Portuguese guitars, and more displayed on the walls and in the windows. After taking in all the beautiful craftsmanship, I asked the shop keepers if they knew where I could see a good Fado show and they said one was scheduled in the shop... More

Our walking tour guide pointed out Casa Da Guitarra to us this morning and we were lucky that there was a brilliant Fado concert on this evening ( each Wednesday, Thursday and Friday at 6 pm for 10 euro per person). Soulful music in a small, intimate space....feel it... and enjoy looking at all the different guitars on display and... More

By accident we found Casa da Guitarra and my husband, who loves guitars, had of course to get in and test a few of the wide variety of guitars, ukuleles etc. The staff was all friendly and ready to tell about the instruments. You were welcome to take your time to test different guitars. We were lucky because they arranged... More
