This Church dedicated to St. Anthony was built on a site of a previous Chapel in 17c.
From a distance it doesn't catch your eye, as it seems incorporated in residential buildings left and right from it. However, the interiors are nice with a golden altar.
Across it is the terrific art gallery like Sao Bento train station.

This really is a great church but there are so many around. The altar is covered in gold leaf. The most interesting part is the various graves, enclosed in glass, around the sides of the Cathedral. Worth a peak.

One of the nicest, most impressive churches in Porto in my opinion. A wonderful sense of calm inside, but no pictures allowed so I have nothing to share here. Actually maybe that's why it's so peaceful inside!
Just lovely though, so intricate in terms of decor with gorgeous gold gilted side altars and a huge, high main altar. Dimly lit which adds to its air of mystique and charm.
Right next door to Sao Bento train station so very easy to find. Definitely one of my favourite places in Porto.

The is a beautiful church as you walk toward the main square of Porto. Lots of azulejos and ornate sections. Stop in for a peaceful moment on your way to see more famous churches, but not necessarily more beautiful.

Santo António dos Congregados, or simply, Congregados Church, may not be the most famous or beautiful catholic temple in the Portuguese city of O Porto, but certainly is among the most visited ones. Almost in front of the São Bento Railway Station, the church was built in 1703, replacing a chapel dated as far back as 1662. Beautiful tiles, in the Portuguese tradition, decorate its façade. It is near everything and a short visit is strongly recommended. Enjoy!

Most of the churches here are full of decoration, but this one was over the top. You can see where some of the riches from the old empire went to, to the church! Definitely worth a visit to be amazed.

Igreja de San Antonio dos Congregados is a church located in an avenue zone in Porto, the main city in the North of Portugal. In fact, you can see it, if you walk in the center of the town. From Dom Alfonso Henriques Avenue, there are very beautiful views of the church, so it is from here the beat point of view. If you enter in the church, you can see the typical decoration of Portuguese churches, with ceramic tiles paints. Very nice.

It’s a church typically for Porto! With a lot of azulejo’s at the outside and gold at the inside. It’s quite a nice church.
