We came across Muro de Azulejos by accident as we were walking and were taken in by the stories the pictures told. We felt compelled to view every picture and marvelled at it's presentation. Well worth a visit.

This is a great “azulejos” hand painted mural. The history of is people, and the city. Well located near Casino and the marine Port . For more informations abou this beautiful city, go to the tourism Office, on the other side of the street.

Worth a view if you are in the area otherwise may not be worth going out of your way . Depicts the history of Povoa De Varzim in ceramic tiles. The wall is opposite the casino.

Head to Povoa do Varzim and the casino. It’s just opposite on the breakwater wall. Worth a visit if you are in the area

Shipbuilders, seafarers, fisherman, politician, the shore line to the Atlantic Ocean. Picture says more than a thousand words. And these pictures are on a wall. Beside the wall you can also take a stroll along the beach. Enjoyable!

Gorgeous extensive tiles showing history of Povoa de Vazim. Sad faces of women waiting for fishermen to return, feasts, fishing boats. In very good condition. a must see. Located on waterfront.

These tiles are very much worth seeing. The Portuguese are proud of their relationship with the ocean and fishing tradition and this is so very much representative of that history and pride.

Caught sight of these whilst walking into Povoa on my Camino. Checked them out on my return home and this reveals an amazing and unique local culture in Povoa. The siglas/signage alongside the amazing depictions have runic and local family significance. Povoas unique cultural history...More
