This an outstanding place to visit. You can get in contact with local culture and see a well kept place. It is possible to see the city of Viana since this is a high point.

I was amazed at this wonderful modern (1908) building and the terrific modern art inside the Church. Nearby is a restaurant and another inside the Pousada. There are walks in the surrounding countryside. Fabulous.

A tiny basilica which is more an overgrown modern chapel, but the views from the top - and also on the drive up and down - are stunning.

You can take the “elevador” up for 3 euros return trip or drive up, with plenty of parking at the top. The sanctuary is beautiful, and the view is one of the best we’ve had in our two weeks touring Portugal. If you do one...More

Fairly impressive church up top of the hill overlooking the city. If you are at all claustrophobic and/or don't like heights, do not take the elevator tour, 3 people in our party changed their minds as we got near the top and if you aren't...More
