The sanctuary is dedicated to the Sacred Heart of Jesus but immortalizes St Luzia, the patron saint of sight. Spectacular architecture and views of the surrounding areas. You can reach the top of the basilica, either by climbing all the stairs or using the elevator...More

Beautiful cathedral at the top of the hill overlooking the city and bay. Easy walk from city center if you take the cable car which is fun too!

Let alone that Santuario de Santa Luzia is a spectacular piece of architecture and history, the views are just as wonderful. This beautiful church should be seen. You can get to the church from the village by funicular. Stunning rose window.

worth going all the way to the belvedere either by car (free parking) or by the cable car. fantastic view even though we did not climb up the church as it was very windy

Really a must visit when in Viana do Castelo. The inside is very special with some amazing detail and style. There is an opportunity to visit the tower for further breathtaking views.

The scenery is breathtaking with a view on the city on the river and on the ocean. The small funicular is nice.

If you are at Viana do Castelo this is a mandatory spot! Santa Luzia is beautiful and offers a large view over the city of Viana do Castelo. It's free to go and enjoy!

Sorry for delay, admission is free. If you like going up to bell tower, each has separate elevator and you have to pay. It was 1 euro each. The one on the right has extra narrow steps to the top, the one on left has... More
