Don't miss one of the most famous historic sites in the world. There is a lot of construction going on and apparently has been for a long time. There are so many eras to the destruction and restoration of the Acropolis and so much to...More

The Acropolis is one of those places one must see when in Athens. The climb from the street was quite a feat for me as I have a bad leg in a brace, but I did it and was so pleased. Had to be carefully...More

If the Acropolis (the "rock" upon which the Parthenon and several other ancient buildings sit) isn't on your bucket list, it should be! I visited with my husband and two children (ages 11 and 8) in June 2017 and we all agreed it was a...More

It's sad to see that people are reviewing the weather (too hot and windy) and not being able to take a selfie.. I think they might be missing the bigger picture.. this is an amazing place and a structure that was built around 2,500 years...More

Forget about the long lines, they move along fairly quickly and give you a chance to catch your breath as you work your way up the hill to the Parthenon. They are still working on the restoration, so expect some construction equipment around the main...More

Words don't describe it, you need to experience this wonderful place in person. Walk from the Plaka up and enjoy the amazing view and history.

So much history. To see something so old and learn the history about it is amazing. Make sure to also wonder around the area below the Acropolis.

3 nights is a good amount of time. We didn't do any museums, but you can see many of the ruins for free and it's good to see some history. Try and go for a hotel close to or in the Plaka area so that everything you are... More

Hi Emma! I would recommend 2 days. You certainly could do it in 1 day, but if you have children between 10-15 yrs old (free admission) and are enthusiastic about Greek history and what not, I'd suggest 2 days. The Acropolis... More
