Mixed feelings about the restoration work

Its nice that they are trying to restore such a magnificent ancient structure, but it does ruin the aesthetics of looking at the building when there are cranes in and around it

This is such an iconic location, you can read about the history online. It's busy, mad busy, but so large that once you get past the queues you still have room to see it all. The wait and hike up marble slippery steps in worthwhile. Take time to look, not just take selfies! Would be slippy in the rain, it's... More

It still gives me goosebumps it is so beautiful. This time got to see it from a hill off to the side and it is more breathtaking and magnificent.

We were lucky to have a guide that walked us to the top and explained all of the artifacts we passed. She stayed with us to the top. Definitely recommend/. There were 4 of us at 10 euros each. Worth every bit.

I was stunned by the intact architecture, the beauty of what remains, the unbelievable views from there. I highly recommended a tour guide. It's fun to explore on your own, however I wish we'd had someone there explaining things to us. Definitely allow time to really explore and get the feel for this spectacular place.

The history and splendor of the Parthenon is all it is cracked up to be. Despite the annoyance of a multitude of summer tourists, this was worth the climb up the hill. Do not underestimate the sun in the summer months. Take plenty of water, comfortable shoes, patience and enjoy the visit!
