While this is he main reason people Athens, don't make it your first stop. Go to the Acropolis Museum to get a better understanding of waht you will see. Go up first thing in the morning or last thing in the day. It can get very hot.

This is a must see while in Athens - a step back into very early history - the beginning of our contemporary civilization. Continue your trip to the Acropolis for another world wonder and then on to the Acropolis Museum where you will statues that have unearthed.

I suggest visiting the museum after instead of before, but read something about the Parthenon and the entire site before the hike. Even a basic read will make you appreciate the structures more.

Simply breath taking. It really is everything I had imagined. Pictures do not do it justice. We will never forget our trip here.

Old things do crumble, so it's being carefully cleaned. Still worth seeing! Walking up from monesteraki square was easy and the museum is close by.

A definite must-see in Athens. How silly would it be if you went and didn't go see one of the most famous buildings of the ancient world? I would highly recommend going to the Acropolis museum first and getting more background on why the Parthenon looks the way it does, otherwise you'll be missing out on a huge part of... More

Now that the restoration is almost completed very little scaffolding obscures this amazing structure. I recommend going to the Acropolis Museum before visiting here because it will all come together for you. It was easy to visualize how it originally looked.

This is one of those things you just don't question. You have to do it as chances to see a wonder of the world don't come up that often. A fantastic experience

When you get to the capital of Greece, you absolutely cannot miss visiting Panthenon! It's so huge and magnificent! With all the surrounding attractions make sure you give yourself plenty of time to explore the area!
