Square near the Acropolos

A market and flea market collection of shops close to the acropolis and roman agora, fun stroll. Repetitive products in new stock but very interesting antiques.

In itself there's not much here, but it connects the walk from the acropolis and Roman Agora to the street full of restaurants leading to Hadrian's Arch and to the flea market plus the metro.

This place was a nice square in downtown Athens, full of antique shops and cafes and restaurants. Now the place has been turned into a parking lot for those how go to the one restaurant or the one bad. Shame to all the mayors and the governments...m

We are carboot/flea market tragics, so for us this is heaven on a staurday it really comes alive as many sellers place blankets on the ground and sell there wares , the square is full of stalls selling everything you can think of, we picked up an awesome little trinket as a souvenir of Athens instead of buying something made... Everybody knows that you can't find authentic antiques in this place, best known for it's coffee shops and souvlaki. All the shops here are selling copies. If you want to find real quality antiques visit the neighborhood between Syntagma square and the Old Parliament square. There are a couple of quality antique stores that you can find easily.

Walking through the flee market you will get the sense of different time. The shops with the antiques, the old books and the discs are just lovely. You can find everything there. If you do not want to buy, it still worth to visit it, especially in a Sunday morning. You can have a coffee or a drink in the... More

Nice place to spend some time, especially on a Sunday. Lots of antiques, and junk. Just browsing is fun. Be sure to visit the restaurant of the same name in the square. Lovely food, and I believe it has jazz music on Friday and Saturday nights. Check it out.

Very nice to visit for the antique shops. On Sundays it's packed with people. Mind your belongings. Surrounded with many nice small cafes.

A very old Athenian sq., with a lot small shops of Antiques(!!!??) beware, and second hand market (flea Market) every Sunday. Possible to find interesting items in very good prices. There is also, a typical old, mezedepolio, that means restaurant with many dishes, for ouzo or wine. Live music, on weekends.

We found nice old souvenirs to take along as gifts for our friends. We also visited the concept store SHOP nearby, at Ermou 112A st. where we did our shopping for the whole family. The only place in Athens where you can find this wide and unique selection of designers & casual wear, lifestyle products, jewelery and accessories.
