We visited as part of the 15 euro multi ticket purchased from the Archaeological Museum and were glad we did - in fact, we enjoyed it even more. The museum has some interesting and beautiful pieces and is laid out logically both according to theme and chronology, presenting the history and art in a very accessible way even for those... More

Went to this museum on a university trip with a few people. The artifacts are amazing and the layout of the museum is easy to follow as you go through the time periods. Also has fantastic wifi

This museum houses some real treasures! Yes it is yet another museum in Europe but it is definitely worth seeing. The Byzantine Era produced some amazing artifacts for us to see now. I recommend this museum if you are interested in history.

I can say that this museum re-opened my eyes to the Byzantine Art which in a way I guess I was taking for granted as I was used to seeing it. It's a lovely and an easy to visit museum with some truly amazing works of art and craftsmanship. Worth the time. I would for sure visit it again.

The museum seems small from the outside. In fact, there is a lot going on under the ground. If you want to learn about this aspect of Greek history, but also how Christianity developed over the centuries, this is a must see. Together with the National Archeology museum you are prepared for all the other excursions you will do in... More

The Byzantine and Christianity Museum of Athens is a very interesting thematic museum, mainly referring to the Byzantine Christian Orthodox era; these days it hosts treasures of the Hermitage! From 4th-3rd century BC to the 1917 Bolshevik Revolution and the overthrown of the "Tsarist regime"! Exhibits from the "Siberian collection"(unbelievable golden pieces") with exhibits of the Renaissance era are being... More

People probably do not know enough about the importance of Byzantine Empire which lasted more than any other Empire in the world (about 1.100 years) as well as the art of this period. The Byzantine and Christian Museum has most beautiful mosaics and icons. One follows the evolution of the Byzantine art. They are very well displayed. Definitely a museum... More

We were lucky enough to see the visiting Russian icon exhibition, which was spectacular. Their own exhibits are also good. Well worth a visit.

This museum is a beautifully organized history of the art and details or Orthodox Christianity. It contains treasures of iconography with displays clearly organized and with well worded descriptive texts. It was a significant learning experience .
