This beautiful oasis offers a soothing respite of greenery from the big city with many benches for picnicking, cafes, duck ponds and a small zoo.

The National Garden presented us with an oasis in the centre of the city and an opportunity for refreshment during a spell of coole, rainier weather which had broken up the pattern of fierce , interminable summer heat. The walks are extensive; there is always...More

Relief.....from the urban grind that is Athens. I just missed the spring blooms of April when I was there in May. The park has gone to seed, pun intended. Athens like Lisbon; is an old gal down on her luck and no monies for makeup....yet...More

I guess very few tourists have the time, or the inclination, to spend a leisurely time at the National Garden, which is a pity as this is a rare tranquil spot within the chaotic city. There is a rare calmness in this nice garden, which...More

Overall, maybe not poor but I just didn't like it. It really was quite dirty and there is really nothing in there to see.

First of all entry is free to this beautiful garden and located in the centre of Athens. Such a huge and well designed garden. If you just become tired of Athens hustle and bustle, you definetly need to visit this relaxing park.

Very beautiful and amazing garden! So much to see and perfect for vacay photos! I would definitely recommend it to be on the top of your list to see in Athens!

This a gem and a nice escpape from the big city traffic and noise. Enjoy the shadow and if you are fancy enough there is a restaurant for gourmet food lovers.

It's free and right near the historical part of Athens. Great shaded walk, had some animals and ducks you can see. A handful of joggers go by. Use it as a great path to get from one point to another.

It's a nice park filled with trees which keep you cool. Few animals and coffee shop. Stadium in right beside it so probably should do both while your in the area.

Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is
Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament
building on its upper side and surrounded by other
large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande
Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia
are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like
the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia
Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents,
