We took a 2 week private tour that commenced in Athens and continued around to Delphi, Olympia and Galaxidi before heading down to the Mani, across to Monemvasia and Nafplio. Following this we returned to Athens via Mycenaea and the Corinth Canal. We then flew across to Crete and stayed in Chania and Heraklion visiting Knossos and the wonderful archeological museums. Chris Leontopoulos organised a wonderful tour for us that went without a hitch. The guides were top quality especially Nota, Yannis and Yorgis ( whose infectious laugh was a highlight of the food tour of Athens). Nota went to extraordinary lengths to deliver a fact-packed tour of Ancient Athens and we marvelled at Yannis’ ability to drive in some hair-raising places. He was also great company at dinner. The accommodation was of a very high standard. The Greek people were friendly and helpful. They are proud of their country and it shows in the courtesy they extend to tourists. We would gladly return to Greece using this company again.

We had a group of 20 people, and everyone really enjoyed the private walking tour of Acropolis and Plaka. Our tour guide Elenanthi was very knowledgeable and passionate about the history and stories of the Acropolis and Plaka area in Athens. I would highly recommend Athens Insider, I dealt with Natalie who could not have been more helpful and accommodating to all our requirements.

Natalie designed a custom tour of Athens and the Peloponnese for us. The trip exceeded all our expectations. The pace of the tour kept us engaged and energized. We were provided with an All-Star line up of local guides. Klea for an Athens food tour, Maia for Athens Highlights, George at Mycenae & Epidaurus, Vasilis at Olympia, Penny at Delphi, Hilda for a hike at Delphi and Vagelis & Veronique at Meteora. Yannis, our driver, kept us safe and on schedule. He was also an enthusiastic guide for all the important attractions between destinations and the scenic countryside Overall, he is an excellent ambassador for Greek culture. We thoroughly enjoyed all the hotels. Each had a unique personality and an awesome breakfast. Athens Insiders provided many dining suggestions and each we tried provided an excellent menu of local favorites. Our overnight destinations had excellent walking and shopping opportunities. An off-season tour means that some archaeological sites have shorter hours. But I suspect we saw more as there were no crowds. In addition we had more time to enjoy the 21st century Greece.

Giota provided my family the best tour of the Acropolis and a food tour. She made Greek history come alive to even those in the family that don’t love history :). She was a pleasure to spend the day with and we felt like we had a new family member! And i think she acquired a new little brother :) Thank you so much Giota!!

My wife, her sister and husband, and myself, on an extended tour of Spain, Morocco, Turkey, United Kingdom and Greece, were simply thrilled and very happy during our six day stay in the Greek islands and Athens. Our 3 day stay in Athens was the most exciting and unforgettable part of our tour. This was mostly because of the excellent service provided by Athens Insiders represented by their qssociate Anthia Viassapoulou. It is difficult to express in words, the fun. knowledge and general understanding of Greek culture that we acquired from Anthia. Anthia has not only good looks, but a vast knowledge of her profession. The wonderful time we had with Anthia at the Acropol, the interesting rides in nice town touring buses, and a host of other things, including a wonderful outdoor lunch at an excellent restaurant was simply amazing. Anthia was constantly concerned about our safety, and held our hands one by one, while we were roaming at the top of Acropol. Anthia helped us personally for our shopping needs, and in the end put us comfortably in a bus which us to a house that our Greek friend had set aside for us, and who is well known to Anthia.
We are planning to go to Athens again later this year for reasons that are self evident. It goes on without saying that I would recommend any one to contact Athens Insiders for a very satisfying time in Athens and other places in wonderful Greece.

For anyone who wants to experience a city the locals way. Athens insiders was a real treat. Athens is not an easy city to negotiate if you are new to it. The guys took on what I wanted to see, hear, feel and taste and gave me the full works.
I loved it. Would definatley use them again and look forward to them expanding to other cities. This should be the way forward for tourism. No more drudgery and tourist trails, instead unique hand picked passage tailored to suit the individuals needs.

Myself and my husband just came back from Athens where we had a great tour with Athens Insiders.We are no big history buffs and were looking for a tour that would cover a bit of everything, and our guide Anthia gave us just that!!! She was very friendly and considerate and shared really interesting information with us. We learnt all sort of things about the city of Athens and Greek people, and felt really pampered. Its one of the best tours we have ever done and we definitely recommend it!

A real highlight of our few days in Athens: not cheap, but worth every cent. Yanna took us on a walking tour of parts of Athens that we would never have seen as tourists, as well as some of the more usual fascinating sights. This was no conventional tour - we had some history, social comment, information on flora, politics, suggestions where to go - things you don't get on a tour bus. Yanna could not have been more considerate, tailoring the tour to our particular interests and allowing me a slow pace and plenty of stops for my gammy leg. Also, really helpful follow-up messages after the tour. A couple of days later I told my Athens business colleague about the "pie shop" that Yanna took us to - she said that her grandma used to go there with her and how did I find out about it!

On a recent trip to Greece, my daughter and I were lucky enough to have a personalized tour that included a visit to the Acropolis Museum, and a delightful wander through the surrounding area of Plaka/ Monastiraki/ Syntagma.
Our tour guide, Anthea, was a mine of local knowledge - from the best shops in the Flea Market, to the little local tavern with a traditional home cooked menu...wow!
What an unforgettable experience!
We were amazed with the scale of the museum and the wonderful way the sculptures have been displayed....
The meandering walk through the cobblestone streets....
The beautiful - restored and decrepit - neoclassical homes....
Glimpses of secret courtyards and roof-top gardens...
Overall, we were delighted with the service we received from Athens Insiders. Our money was extremely well spent and we felt we got value plus, as Anthea was able to tailor-make the tour with our interests in mind and a smile on her face!

Our private walking tours usually last for 4 hours, in order to provide a slow-paced, comfortable experience for you.
Our political tour also lasts for 4 hours where you get to explore several neighborhoods of Athens with the guidance of our local Insider Guide. Usually this tour covers the modern part of the city including the visit to not so known neighborhoods.
Please keep in mind that we work on a fully tailor made and private basis; therefore I will be happy to receive your comments and further customize these ideas. We may change the tour, add or remove any of the elements suggested in order to create the perfect itinerary for you. Also keep note that even on the spot the route is flexible and can be altered depending on your wishes.
