Athmosphere in anafiotika reminds about feeling in Mediterranian islands. Something totally different from city of Athens though it is located beside of Plaka. Lovely surprise!

I read about Anafiotika before going to Athens and I was afraid I might miss it. But through the free walking tour we joined, we got the direction/our bearing on how to go to it again. The area is quite small, but very lovely. Small houses which look like they are in Greek islands. There is a very nice view... More

A perfect area to chill after touring the acropolis. Charming Mediterranean neighborhood, beautiful views that look even more impressive having the height differences, mixed with cool graffiti, all together create a very special atmosphere that makes you want to stay

Tiny, winding footpaths you think are out of bounds, whitewashed village houses, great views and as it's Athens... some brilliant graffiti!

Either for a morning coffee, a breakfast or dinner, it's one of the most beautiful parts of the Athenian centre. It has graphical places and it's very nice for a walk. Don't miss it during your walk in the center.

I briefly walked through Anafiotika while following the Rick Steves Athens City Walk. You feel like you are in a small town. Everything is whitewashed. So neat to see!

This is a cool little "village" built into the north slope of the Acropolis---little windy "streets" often no more than a path, up and down, lots of prettily painted doors and houses, lots of friendly cats. You will know you aren't home anymore.
