Anna was a very knowledgeable and informative tour guide. It covers all the highlights including the Temple of Zeus and the gentle stroll up the Acropolis to the Parthenon. Anna was able to answer any questions on history, fauna and Greek Mythology. I would recommend any tour that Anna does.

Anna, our guide was excellent and brought us around the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier guard change, Temple of Zeus, and up the Acropolis. Her passion for Greek history and philosophy was evident and we learnt a lot from her. Highly recommended!

Despena was a wonderful guide! This tour was one of the highlights of our trip. We never would have found this amazing restaurants or foods without this trip. First we tried Greek doughnuts or Loukoumades, these were fantastic. I've attached a picture below. Then we walked through the fish market which was so interesting and different. We tried some salty... More

I booked the acropolis only tour w/o museum. It was perfect and everything I wanted. Despina was magnificent, knowledgeable, and wise. The path is not strenuous and you get to bypass the lines. Everything was on time and smooth. So satisfied with the service that they providesd. Book it!

The guide was good but i think either tired of dealing with tourists or was just having an off morning. Either is possible and or understandable however it made for an only average experience.

My boyfriend and I decided to take the cooking class offered by Athens Walking Tours. We were not disappointed: for about 3 hours,Fofi, taught us how to make tasty traditional Greek cuisine, using ingredients we can easily find at home, and giving us some insight about the Greek culture. The atmosphere was really sweet and we then enjoyed the food... More

A friend recommended us to take a walking tour with demetria. She was first class. We had afull half-day with her going up the Acropolis. She went at our pace, lots of interesting detail as she took us round the Parthenon, then the Agora and the Monasterake District. It was a real pleasure walking with her, so we engaged her... More

We were with a small group of no more than 10. It was nice meeting other travelers and listening to a guide explain the history and culture of this beautiful city!

We walked throughout Athens and tried numerous things. In the midst you would get a history lesson on why certain things are the way they are. Despina did a great job accommodating a vegetarian also.

Went on the standard walking tour around Athens and the Acropolis on a lovely sunny winters day. Our guide was Eleni who did a good job of making the tour interesting offering good insight into the cultural and political history of Athens. I would give 5 stars other than at times some of the explanations went into too much detail... More

Staying in Syntagma

Neighbourhood Profile
Syntagma
Perhaps the best place to get your bearings is Syntagma Square, crowned by the imposing Parliament building on its upper side and surrounded by other large structures, such as the exclusive Hotel Grande Bretagne. The grand avenues that lead towards Omonia are also full of massive Neoclassical edifices like the Numismatic Museum and those around smaller Platia Kolokotroni. Here you will find lots of travel agents, bookshops and fashion shops, especially on Ermou Street. Just south of Syntagma Square, you can take a breather in the lush National Gardens, which extend into the grounds of the Zappeio palace and beyond to the ancient Temple of Olympian Zeus.
