I've utilized the metro numerous times throughout my stay in Athens. The stations are fairly easy to navigate with good signage. Timetables and estimated trail arrival information are posted on automated screens at each platform. The ticket vending machines are easy to use. Rechargeable, multi-day...More

The Athens metro is easy to navigate. A good way goaround the city. The metro is crowded like any other metros during busy hours.

Built for the 2004 Summer Olympics, the Athens Metro is super modern and super easy to navigate. There are only three lines that essentially run west/east, northwest/southeast, and northeast/southwest. 90 minute ticket to any location other than the airport cost €1.40 (as of October 2018),...More

80% of ticket machines are out of order, creating long queues and missed trains at each station we used. Always look for alternative travel options - I am aware of the multiple day passes but you can’t use these for the airport!
