Took a day trip from Athens to Delphi, great trip back in Greek lore. The Temple of Apollo is just of many temples and ruins in the area beneath Mount Parnassas. Columns from 3000+ years still in place with some scattered nearby.

The site is well maintained and so mythic. I can just imagine the people in the old days coming to this magic place and socialize..... It's located in the mountains, close to Mount Parnasse. You need good shoes and good legs to visit the site. Try to go all the way up to the stadium, is it well preserved!

Is part of the Delphi ruins entrance fee. No one one to even check if you had paid, late in the day during the off season. Expect to spend only 20 minutes at the ruins.

If Greek mythology is your thing and visiting the actual place where ancient Greeks waited to ask their questions to the oracle at Delphi, then this stop is a must. Make arrangements for a guided tour to appreciate the multi-level ruins and the history and myths behind it. And don't miss the artifacts in the museum. NOTE: uneven steps, no... More

Found in the archeological site of Delphi, the Temple of Apollo is part of the UNESCO world heritage site, thus a "must see". Just sitting quietly for a few minutes, it's easy to go back in time to see what this site would have been like in its former glory. Simply, a fascinating place to visit; allow yourself a good... Overwhelmed by the size of the Temple of Apollo and its view down the valley. Visited on a beautiful spring day when there were virtually no other visitors to the site.
