In the beautiful town of Chania you can see the armonic co-existence of different traditional architectures Venezian,Arabic,Ottoman. This is the beauty and the uniqueness of this town. One of the most interesting element of this architectural puzzle are the old Ottoman Baths, which you can find in ruins…The Hammams were brought to Chania by the Ottomans of Asia Minor. As Sherazade, the unforgettable protagonist of "A Thousand and One Nights" said: "A town is incomplete without a Hammam." Crossing the threshold, you enter a new dimension where old world traditions are infused with modern day services. Unlike Spas that call any steam room a Hammam, Al Hammam is the only one, authentic Hammam with all natural, organic, and traditional treatments; where beauty, well-being, body care, and relaxation of the mind are experienced in harmony. The Hammam will cleanse your body in a heated, low-mist room atop heated Venetian Marble tables, where an aesthetician exfoliates you and delivers an invigorating, full body Gommage using authentic black Moroccan Olive Oil Soap - your skin will be left feeling soft and supple - a prelude to your Hammam body ceremony.

In the words of Gertrude Stein, "There is no there, there." This is a beautiful spa, but don't kid yourself this is not a Turkish bath house with luxurious pools to languish in. Chania has chosen to not keep a single example of a Turkish bath house. You'll have to visit Budapest or Istanbul for that fantastic experience.

I have had many massages but nothing as good as this. Having the steam sauna and scrub and wash hair first was amazing with loads of hot water and steam. Followed by and 1 hour massage which was outstanding. I would certainly recommend this especially if you have never had a Hannam!

The experience itself was nice, but it was 30-40 minutes shorter of an experience than advertised to be. Went for the Ottoman package - 60 minutes for "Al Hammam" was more like 45...30 (actually 20-25) minutes in the steam and soak yourself; 15 (actually 5) minutes of exfoliation; 15 (actually 10) of olive soap bubble massage. Then followed by 60... More

Amazing experience.. The place is so tidy and clean I was amazed.. I was also amazed how many different rooms were in the place. The hammam was so nice and it was great having Turkish delights and tea inside. The hamman gets really hot and really opens up your pores. The bath was amazing as well and I would come... More

My friend and I had a few hours in this delightful town and whilst having a light lunch we noticed Al Hammam next door to the restaurant. We'd looked round enough shops so decided to go and see what was on offer, I'm so glad we did. I had the most wonderful thirty minutes in the steamy marbled hammam with... More

Really nice experience the sultan bath and the massage. I have to admit that I would like to do it again.

Even though me and my friend acted special (lol) the massage was really great. Trying to figure out why they locked the door when we are trying to go change.

Popped in here on the last day of our trip for a massage. Glad to say that it didn't disappoint. I opted for the 30 minute massage and was hosted by Elina who did an excellent job. Felt so relaxed that I almost fell asleep :-)
