Great place for anybody.

This place is of real historic significance and should be on everybodys bucket list. A lot of the buildings are reconstructed but it's done in a nice way.

Very interesting site. I really recommend taking a tour guide. Only 10 Euro if you go in a small group or 60 euro on your own. Our guide was Maria and she was really nice and helpful.

I am a fan of ancient history, so was really looking forward to visiting the site of Europe's oldest cities and the Palace ruins. However, I felt that the experience lacked the hype surrounding the site. Don't get me wrong, it's worth the visit but be prepared to find very little original artefacts and a site that, in my opinion,... More

Knossos is legendary - linked to the monotaur and other myths we have grown up with. This site is sprawling and since my first trip in the early 90s has been organised so you follow pathways and access to some parts is now limited. however there is still plenty of space to wander (this was April - high summer is... The Palace of Knossos is great to wonder around, cant help but appreciate the history and great work on restoration. Beautiful setting with ancient ruins standing out against the green hill sides stretching out to the sea in the distance. It can be difficult to read the information boards when a number of people crowding around looking- a little imagination... More

This is a great place to visit if you are in Crete. Take the time to check it out and try to avoid the crowds. During the summer it is crazy with visitors though and hot.

A must see when in Heraklion. You cannot understand what's really left from the ruins, but with a help of a guide it is better. The good thing is they offer a guide at the site's entrance, but you can decide by yourself whether or not you'd like to take one. The site is big and full with tourists so... More

A must see when in Heraklion! We had a wonderful guide, very knowledgeable. Very interesting hearing/seeing Minoan culture/rituals/living quarters. This site is great but I'd also recommend going to the archaeological museum - both are well worth a visit!

Walking between the ruins of this stunning archeological site you can feel the greatness of the Minoan culture and discover its modernity. Better to go early morning to avoid the heat and the crowd.
