This is a very important spot in Heraklio and Crete in general. I personally spent more than 3 hours there, and my kids did not want to leave. An amazing journey through history.

We visited this museum as there was a force 8 gale blowing and though it had not been very well reviewed, it was something to do on a very wet day. We were very glad we did as we thought it an excellent museum, both for children and adults. Plenty of dinosaurs for the children ( but interesting facts about... More

A definite place to visit. The dinosaur's have motion sensors therefore on approaching each one they begin to move - brilliant. There is a large display of wildlife to be found on the island plus an excellent section of, what to me, is very futuristic motion and sensory items.

I stopped by this museum as I had a bit of extra time one afternoon in Heraklion. It is a nice little museum that shows the natural history of the area and I enjoyed seeing some of the wildlife that likely I would otherwise never see. It is a bit more geared toward children though so would be good for... More

We really enjoyed the museum and the staff were very helpful. They were engaging and wanted to be sure you were getting the most of the experience. It was very interesting and we really enjoyed our visit. Also the view behind the Museum of the Seaside is wonderful if you have time to walk down and enjoy.

Went to the museum with my sister a few weeks ago at the end September. Were pleasantly surprised although the exhibition to our opinion was aimed at children. But it was nice to see children amazed of the creatures of the past. What we loved the most was the museum shop filled with books of nature and every kind of... More
