I need to say that for myself as a history freak that place was a MUST on my visit list of Crete and Rethymno area. However after visiting the place and paying 4€ I've soon realized that there is nothing interesting to see there apart...More

We had a great walk round the fortress and took some fab photos. Worth a visit but be prepared for lots of uneven ground. Lots of knooks and crannies to look into.

The fort is interesting to walk through and reasonably priced at 4 euros per adult. It’s easy to explore and the views from the walls are fantastic! If you have a busy trip planned it is skippable.

This place is worth visiting, has some great views to the sea. It would be even more interesting, if there were some guided tours available.

We visited here yesterday (17/05/18) after seeing it in the marco polo visit to Crete book. To look around here its only €4 per person, but well worth it! The maps are free and point out the different buildings which are left standing. Beside every...More

Well worth a visit and with excellent views all around. Just keep an eye on where you're walking as we saw a few people slip, some of the stones are almost glass smooth with the wear of centuries.

One of the houses that should have been open at that time wasn't. Nice and peaceful. Take your passport for a seniors reduction and a 50 cent coin if you want to use the toilet!

We visited the fortezza, during a warm hot day around noon, i know, dumb, but time is not a luxury we control. Walked through beautiful old fortress, really nice views of Rhetimnon, the bay and the mountains behind it. And the bay water is so...More

A little bit difficult to find the entrance. Great view in all directions. Fairly cheap. Not a lot of information about the buildings. We did not see any possibilties to get a guided tour of the Fortezza. We liked it, but would have been better...More

It’s a very interesting view of the fortress and very different from when you go around on the sea side. It’s really worth the visit and the mosque and its cupola are superb.
